1. Artificial infection of sows during delivery
If the birth canal of the sow is narrow, the production is weak, the farrowing time is too long, or it is necessary to confirm whether the sow is finished, the pig farmer will manually assist the delivery. Because the delivery staff does not disinfect the arm or the disinfection is not thorough, foreign objects will be caused Or microorganisms can enter the uterus and cause infection, leading to inflammation of the sow's uterus.
2. Postpartum infection
Postpartum sows are weak, the cervix will not be closed for a few days after delivery, bacteria and viruses enter and cause infection, sows cannot drain the lochia in the uterus within three days after delivery. The cervix of the sow will be closed 3 to 4 days after delivery. If the sow cannot drain the lochia within three days after delivery, the temperature in the sow’s uterus is about 39 degrees, and the unexcreted lochia will be fermented and corrupted in the uterus. Toxicity and heat production stimulate the endometrium, causing endometritis.
3. Infection during artificial insemination
Artificial insemination is now widely used in pig farms, but too many human interventions have also increased the chance of sows contracting metritis. The proficiency of insemination personnel and vaginal mechanical damage are all causes of uterine inflammation.
